As summer comes to an end, it’s time for us to get back on the blogging grind. You will be pleased to know that Nyla has had a very fun filled summer. The last you heard from us (before we went on our summer hiatus); we had our family vacation. Below you will find a time line of Nyla’s awesome summer!

July:
3rd – Nyla is an official Mic hogger. I can no longer do karaoke without her getting on the microphone to sing her little tunes. It’s so cute though .She can sing and do karaoke with mommy anytime

18th – Nyla went to her first concert with Mommy. it was the Video Music box 25th Anniversary concert and she was jammin to the old skool tunes; clapping and spinning and have eyes all on her. She also enjoyed the company of her Auntie Tammy and Cousin Marquel

23rd – Lisa Lisa What a concert. Nyla grooving and moving to the beat of Lisa Lisa. But not until after she went to the Zoo and look at all the animals and ran from Giant fish lol. She had a long fun filled day

24th – Another concert – Montel Jordan and Christopher Williams – Nyla can really hang. She again love to rock and clap to the tunes of the old skool – new skool sound

27th – Nyla went to Daddy’s grandfather memorial dinner. She met her cousins and had a very good time enjoying the company of family!

29th – Nyla had her doctors appointment; her 18th month check up. She is a very healthy toddler!!!

30th – Aug 4 – Do I have to take being healthy back? My poor baby was really sick for a few days running a high fever and had mommy and daddy scared. Cousin Louie stayed the night and played with Nyla. Her big cousin was trying to help her get better.

Daddy’s Ballgames – Throughout the summer Nyla was also one of her daddy’s biggest fans at his kickball games

“NO” and “Thank YOU” has been Nylas favorite words that she has picked up this summer. Now if only she can start sating yes lol and I love that she has manners

August:
4th – can you say Erykah badu everybody?! Nyla had the opportunity to see an Erykah Badu concert in person. Her reaction of Erykah? She enjoyed the performances sitting and relaxing. She had the company of Sakinah, Auntie Tammy, Andria and Kaleelah to join in her concert experience.

6th – EAR PIERCING – The big day – Well Nyla had gotten her ears pierced and boy did she scream. I believe it was more of the shock than anything. The travel started out aiting for Auntie Andria who accompanied us to Jersey for the ear piercing journey. Once out there we met with the ear piercing doctor and as gentle as he was it still didn’t stop Nyla from screaming. In the end she was content and now have a pair of pretty earrings

9th – Celebration time – nyla met her extended family when we went to Binghamton to visit my grandfather, which is her great grandfather. Everyone who has never met her was very excited to see her. She had a good time eating and playing

10th – Kelly Street Jams – Nyla enjoyed dancing with Grandpa Reggie at his Kelly street reunion.

17th – As summer came to a near every year there is Harlem day and yes Nyla was there with Mommy, Sakinah and Andria to join in th festivities of the day. She enjoyed some performances and strolling around.

18th – Nyla went to visit her great grandmother and enjoyed her being in her company. Great grandmother held and played with Nyla till it was time to go home. Must I add she shocked me by tuning the Closer song by Ne-yo?! It caught me by surprise since I don’t normally listen to that song but she does lol

19th – IO digital cable… well you know the rest. if not apparently Nyla does. I was just sitting in the living room. rewinding the DVR box and the IO reggaeton commercial comes on. Nyla decided she’s gonna drag her lion into the living room and start singing along to the commercial. I had to take a double take I know she sings her own little tunes but she was actually on the same rhythm as the commercial. My baby is a star!!!!

24th – BBQ in Conneticuit was really cool for Nyla her attempt to walk on the sandy beach was successful after a few tries and let’s not forget that ocean water, She became a trooper as the waves came in

28th – A trip to Toys r us time square was the coolest day Nyla shared with Mommy. She rode the Giant ferris wheel and gave her approval by simply “WoW”

As you can see Nyla had a very fun filled summer…. Until next time
