Nyla Surgery Update

Some of you may know and some may not. For those who didn’t, I’ll recap some. Nyla was diagnosed with Browns syndrome, which means that when she looks at say up and to the right one of her eyes (the left one) sometimes goes in instead of in that direction.

The solution was for Nyla to have surgery on that eye to make it easier for that eye to move around. This surgery too place this past Tuesday at 7:30 in the morning. On the day of the surgery we had to be at the hospital at 5:45 in the morning, so we were up at about 3-3:30am.

Upon getting to the hospital, while the rest of us was tired (Myself, Sheniqua, and my father), Nyla was just up all perky and enjoying herself. The picture to the right if of her taking a seat and looking at the books they had on the table. It was too funny, she just walked over to the table, pulled out the chair, sat herself down and started reading the books lol.

When it came time to do the surgery I went down with Nyla with her little brave self as the nurses put the sterile cap on her head and we walked to the operation room. After removing her shoes, I had to lay her on the table and hold her hands as they put the gas mask over her mouth. Within a minute she was sleep and I returned to the waiting room.

About maybe 30-45 minutes later it was done and we was in the recovery room as the effects of the gas wore off. We all got home about 12pm or so I think. Sheniqua & I was knocked out most of the day but Nyla popped back fully awake about 3pm.

For now the surgery went ok, and we have to follow up in 3 months to see how her progress is.
